During the third semester, Tyler Solomon and I designed a new residential building on Budapester Straße, replacing the old “HYP” building. Inspired by the Zaha Hadid Dominion Tower in Moscow, we crafted a simple yet engaging concept. The ground floor features a double-height art gallery; two floors host studios and classrooms; the top three levels are fully residential. A continuous atrium unifies the space. Impressively, our design avoids any columns by using three central cores for elevators, stairs, and technical spaces, and it features one-meter-thick floor slabs supporting a truss system. I completed the final 3D modeling and renderings.
